MSD’s Non-Magnetic Pick-Ups are purpose-built for extreme applications, undergoing rigorous testing on 300+ mph top fuel dragsters to meet MSD’s exacting standards. To ensure unparalleled quality and control, we’ve taken the initiative to design and manufacture these Pick-Ups in-house, overseeing every aspect of their assembly.
Each Pick-Up undergoes meticulous craftsmanship, with hand winding on a specialized bobbin and termination to our tinned conductor, teflon jacketed wiring. The wires are carefully routed through a strain relief for added protection. This assembly is then placed into a precision housing and encapsulated with a fracture-resistant epoxy compound. To guarantee complete epoxy encasement of the windings, the Pick-Ups undergo a vacuum procedure to eliminate any air inside the housing.
These precise procedures are essential to create the strongest and most reliable non-magnetic Pick-Up, meeting the demands of extreme conditions.
